Discovering this dreadful story
It is strange how we regularly stumble across data lately, isn't it. The Web has opened the door to a vast store of knowledge some good, some dangerous and a few that's plainly nonsense. Nevertheless what you usually discover is that you glimpse a whole different world which would never be reported in the information, that you view at home.
Looking for an RSS Feed for my Austria assessment, particularly information and or weather info, I came throughout the Austrian instances. It held some of what I was in search of but my eye was caught by a headline which learn "Dog Lard Death Farm". This sounds to terrible but in fact the headline may have been unsuitable or deceptive. Unfortunately it was neither.

A neighbour of this farm finally alerted the police saying that "canine that have been usually too fats to stand" had been being kept at this farm in Poland The informant also advised the police that these dogs were being systematically electrocuted fairly brutally. The police raid found a scene of horror and found disturbing details.
A blood stained axe and clothes confirmed all to well some of what had been happening. This barbaric slaughterhouse nonetheless had dozens of overweight caged canines, the stays of the butchered canines, pelts and stays of cats which indicated cats had also been slain, steel electrocution rods and more.
A big syringe subsequent to the cages completed the story. A way of accumulating fats?. A method of fattening up the animals ?. The mind boggles. Bottles which it's believed contained the fats of the slaughtered animals had been present process forensic testing on Friday, 7th August 2009, to find out if it really is canine and, or, cat fat.
As a remaining insult, it is believed, this fats was being manufactured and bought as an natural health product. It was sold as lard and cleaning soap.
Unbelievable, but of course, sadly it is not.
All too many of these tales of cruelty are coming to gentle these days. With individuals typically experiencing economic meltdown some flip their hand to anything that makes them money. No matter turns someone into the sort of monster that follows such a path, as proven on this hub, although is difficult to know. Of course as an animal lover I never will. There are all the time different alternate options if people want cash.
It's extra likely that the individual or folks concerned were simply greedy. They could have discovered a lucrative method of earning money and accomplished simply that. To be such low individuals though is difficult to grasp. On this the 21st Century I might have hoped that we had been civilised sufficient to move one. I suppose some of us are not.
All I can conclude is that there will at all times be folks round who will abuse the power they have over animals and it is as much as these us who care to attempt to stop them. Please stay vigilant and should you suspect that something towards is occurring, for example, in the space where you reside, contact the authorities.
The final step that can also be needed although is acceptable sentencing and one can only hope that it is meted out on this instance.
A consultant of Poland's Foundation for Animals said: "I can not think about what horrors have been committed right here." and sadly neither can I or perhaps I can.

Having originally merely found this story in the RSS Feed for the Austrian Instances I have found that it appears to be reported more fully now. The BBC web site had additional particulars.
Hold on to your hat. The farmer is a 37 yr old girl. This person has extolled the virtues of her product and its well being advantages. She instructed inspectors that she adds a spoonful of the fats to her daughter's meal every day.
After all for her the other benefit is it is profitable. Apparently half a litre of the fats retails at 37 Euros which is about $53 or £31. There were bottles of fat in the woman's fridge that are still being analyzed.
This story beggars belief from begin to end however I've little doubt it is not going to be the final such story. If convicted it's expected this lady will obtain a two year prison sentence. Not long enough by a protracted stretch.
The pain and suffering this woman has induced deserves a much stiffer sentence.
Appropriate sentencing

I've heard of some really horrific instances of animal cruelty but this takes some beating for a way vile this behaviour is! It is difficult to imagine anybody could possibly be responsible for such cruelty!

It is horrible!!! But every time I hear a sotry like this, I ask "How is dog lard more horrifying that pig lard?" Why a dog's life ought to value more than a lifetime of a pig or cow?

I can't imagine how this lady must have treated her children, contemplating the abuse visited upon the animals in her care. I hope the Polish equal of children's providers is looking into the welfare of her human children.

Oh Ethel! 2 years? I used to be one who voted that 2 years shouldn't be a ample sentence..."Not in a million years!" An awful story made even worse because it is true. These poor animals!
