Sure! I hoped when I clicked on your hub that you'd include the aye aye. I noticed the third image you've got of the aye aye in Time Journal years ago and fell in love with it! I am a trainer, and all my students know and respect the aye aye because he's our classroom "mascot." Thank you for the excellent hub!

Thanks all for reading and commenting. This piece was actually a labor of affection. I love weird creatures, however didn't notice when I started this hub that it would find yourself being almost six months of research.
As to the validity of the Camel Spider - from the research I did that image with the soldier came up several times - I used to be under the impression that it was two of them in that image.

The underside picture of the camel spider is certainly two of them 'caught together,' and also somewhat trick of the digicam to make 'it' look even larger. In reality most are round 5in lengthy. Nonetheless the 2 photos above it are usually not camel spiders, or the work of one. I have been deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan and bitten by one in every of these devils (I refused to kill them for a while), they usually do have a robust and painful chunk... but they are not venomous. Bites do are likely to get contaminated, although, and that's the reason they earn their unhealthy rep in locations like Iraq and Afghanistan (even Africa) due to the hygiene issues and lack of proper medical care in quite a lot of these places.
Troopers or contractors hardly ever get contaminated because of the facilities we have on base, but we try to keep away from being round them all the same. The bite looks like being pinched with the tip of scissors till they slice the skin. Not nice.

My son and I had a good time wanting on the pictures of the bizarre animals here. I was significantly freaked out by the Coconut Crab. If I saw one in all these attempting to pry open my garbage can I think I would run, and I'm a giant guy. Nice hub!

Do you know that the highly effective claws of the mantis shrimp are in fact way more good than was mentioned? In order to catch prey, the mantis shrimp closes it's claws so fast that it makes a vacuum air bubble and sound wave that travels faster than a 22cal bullet. This stuns its prey so it may well eat it.

What an amazing hub! I've held a Pink Panda - considered one of my most treasured memories. They have the softest fur and the warmest paw pads. Soooo cute. The Sea Pig is truly revolting. I will probably be exhibiting this to my kids…something gross is at all times highly appreciated!

Unimaginable info and pictures! The factor I find attention-grabbing is how a reader's geographic location influences how they react to these creatures, akin to I, as an Australian, am pretty conversant in many of the 'critters' talked about from the Australasian region, whereas a number of the American, European & African creatures appeared absolutely unbelievable to me!

We did a Trip Bible College last year that was on weird animals. Star nosed mole, leafy sea dragon have been included. Had missionary buddies in Paupa New Guinea that discovered a baby purple panda and took care of it till they could let it go. Very enjoyable hub.

Went to mattress one evening round four am throughout July just to look to my left and see a 6 inch Camel Spider working torwards my face. Obtained up quicker than the flash and it adopted me. Little did i do know at the time it was simply trying to stay in my shadow. They don't seem to be followers of light. I didnt kill it although. I vacuumed it and threw it out facet down the street.
